The people behind Down N Durdy
Many of us have been impacted by a motorcycle accident, ourselves or our friends and loved ones. For this reason, we want to help. We realize that even after the stays in the hospital, the broken bones and physical therapy, there are more needs than meet the eye.
Together, we want to welcome you into our community and support our injured survivors with A Hand Up-not a hand out
OUR MISSION
Is to provide love, support, and financial assistance to riders and their families when they are injured in a motorcycle accident.
Meet our All-Volunteer Board of Directors
Chris \"Skippy\" Noll
I was born in Las Cruses, NM (my father was in the Army, and we were stationed at White Sands Missile Range) on August 15 1975, but was living in Tempe by the age of 5. Tempe and Chandler were my stomping grounds growing up. I went to Corona Del Sol high school in Chandler, where I met my lifelong Brothers. I played ice hockey in my teens. I played on house teams and travel teams playing hockey all over the United States. My travel team even traveled to Austria for an international tournament.
I’m happily married to Amelia Bontrager since 2015. I have an awesome son, Sean Noll, born in 1999. My wife and I adopted a rescue dog in 2020, named Kitty-B. She loves riding on the motorcycle with us.
I’m a Chef and a Welder by trade, but currently building trike conversion kits for Champion Trikes of AZ. I help turn motorcycles into trikes.
I didn’t own my first Harley till 2016, but the dream of riding a hog was always there. I currently ride a 16 Road King that I’ve done some engine modifications on.
My passion for riding led to me giving back to the community by going on Veteran charity rides, and then eventually to giving back to the motorcycle community by Co-founding Down N Durdy.

AJ
I was born in Stuttgart Germany on my father’s Army base. When I was 4 years old, we came stateside to Northern California where I grew up. I moved to Arizona over 28years ago. Now, Arizona is home! I have one son, who has given me a beautiful granddaughter and the daughter I never had.
I have been a part of the American Legion since 2017 as a Rider and held the Auxiliary President Officer position for 5 years. I have a deep passion for assisting our veterans, community, and youth.
I am also an accredited service officer for, Veterans of Foreign Wars – getting veterans their service-connected benefits.
I’ve had a love for motorcycles all my life and have been riding over 25 years. The love and passion, not to mention therapy from riding is like nothing else. Knowing the life we lead as riders – an accident is not a matter if “IF”, its “WHEN”.
Lucky for me, Down-N-Durdy was there when my accident happened. A silly pothole took me down, imagine that in Arizona. I was not wearing a helmet and was severely injured, landing me in the hospital and therapy for a year. Down-N-Durdy adopted me for 3 entire months while I focused on recovery and getting my insurance in order. Taking care of my rent, car payment and insurance, food, etc. The burden that was lifted not only for me, but my son, was beyond a blessing!
Not just that, Down-N-Durdy is available for our survivors, even if it was just a need to talk. WOW!
I am honored to give back to this amazing cause as the Event Coordinator and the newest Board Member. Meeting and supporting our survivors just like me, has touched my heart deeper than I can ever express.
When you see me out and about– please stop me and say Hello!
Cari Jaksha
I have been riding motorcycles since my sister taught me to ride her Suzuki 450GSL when I was 17. I bought my first Harley in 2001 and enjoyed riding it for 23 years.
I am an accountant by trade but was lucky enough to have my own restaurant in Central Minnesota for several years. While owning that I started volunteering for the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans, collecting items for homeless and in-need veterans. After selling my business I joined their staff and later became their Chief Operating Officer.
Before moving to Arizona, I had the opportunity to be the Treasurer for the Minnesota Warriors Hockey program which serves disabled military veterans.
Seeing Skippy, Heath, Roy and Dan’s commitment to our fellow riders has been inspiring and I’m grateful for this chance to support their efforts and everyone in this close-knit riding community. I love being able to use my training to help nonprofit organizations like Down N Durdy.
Roy \"Florida\" Katner
Hello there, my name is Roy Katner, also known as Florida Roy, Florida, or Flo. I’m 54 years old. I was an Air Force brat up till my dad retired in 79. We moved around for a while and ended up settling our family back in Pensacola in 1984. I lived and worked there until moving to Phoenix in 2002.
I’ve met some amazing people and have become lifelong friends with some fellas that I now call my brothers. I love to ride, have had several bikes but finally got my first Harley in 2016.
I am a proud co-founding member of Down N Durdy. To be able to help folks, and be a part of this amazing motorcycle community, is an honor and a privilege. I hope to be able to continue to do so for as long as possible.
Heath \"Ironman"\ DeRoiser
We at Down and Durdy mourn, the loss of our brother and good friend Heath DeRosier.
As our Vice President, Survivor coordinator, and fellow rider he was always there to lend a hand to others.
Our prayers go out to his family and friends.
You will be missed brother, RIP
I grew up riding on the tank of my dad’s Harley, been riding off and on for many years.
I bought my first OWN Harley at the age of 43. I had my first severe motorcycle accident a few years ago… After my rehabilitation it became clear to me that other accident victims would be in need of help as I was.
So, I dedicate my time to Down N Durdy raising funds for others that are recovering. I hope they never need us, but we are here.

Eric "Garrulous" Goodwin
I’m Eric Goodwin, and though I was born in Nebraska, Arizona is the only place I’ve ever truly called home. My earliest memories are of growing up in Chandler at Stellar Air Park. Both my parents were pilots, and their passion for flying filled our weekends—often with my siblings and me tagging along for the ride.
As a kid, I spent some time in Tempe at the Garden Lakes community, going to Rhodes Junior High. My family moved around a lot—Sierra Vista, Alaska, Grand Canyon—and then my adventurous dad decided to buy a boat. We ended up living in San Carlos, Mexico for about five years. I was homeschooled during those years, which, according to some, explains a lot about who I am.
After our time in Mexico, we settled in Litchfield Park out in the West Valley, and I attended West View High. I eventually dropped out and got into the kind of trouble that most kids do. But then my parents invited me on an adventure—to buy a sailboat and travel across the South Pacific for two years. We spent a full year in New Zealand, and after all those experiences, I decided it was time to figure out my own path. My dad’s last bit of advice before I left was, “Don’t get anyone pregnant or marry anyone.”
Luckily, I managed to avoid the first part, but I did get married and spent eighteen happy years with my partner, and together we have two wonderful sons. Life has a way of coming full circle; after fifteen years, I returned to Arizona from Seattle. Reconnecting with an old friend, Amaris (AJ, VP of DND), whose son is best friends with my boys, was a stroke of luck—we lived right across the street from each other. That’s how I got introduced to Down N Durdy. And from there, the story keeps unfolding.
I own a Moto Guzzi V85TT that I love, and after trying Skippy’s Fat Boy, I’m sure I’ll get a road bike someday. I have a professional background of managing multi state, Multi field teams, and managing over 100 million dollars’ worth of business. But now Down N Durdy is my primary focus Helping those that need it. I have enjoyed engaging and meeting everyone here in AZ that supports US!
